about

This song is about feeling stuck. It's when you do all the right things that should get you out of a rut, but you're unable to pull yourself out. But you keep trying anyway because it's the only choice you have.

I reuse and recontextualize familiar parts throughout this song. For instance, the main verse guitar riff becomes the chorus guitar lead, and the pre-chorus vocals are remixed over the bridge. It's catchy, and also ties in with the lyrical theme.

lyrics

Captured in a loop that never seems to end
Despite so many reasons we should feel content
Impossible to ever fully scratch the itch
On the horizon, midnight's slowly setting in

Back to the start

One more day, one more wall
As we steadily approach the fall
The scenery changes
As we remain motionless

Will we reach serenity if we push on?
Somewhere in between the midnight and the dawn
Impossible to ever fully scratch the itch
On the horizon, midnight's slowly setting in

One more day, one more wall
As we steadily approach the fall
The scenery changes
As we remain motionless

Back to the start of the line again
For this rollercoaster ride we're on
Though the summit is evident
Round and round we go again

Back to the start

One more day, one more wall
As we steadily approach the fall
The scenery changes
As we remain motionless

Back to the start of the line again
For this rollercoaster ride we're on
Though the summit is evident
Round and round we go again
